Carcassonne Airport (CCF)
Airport Information

(Carcassonne, Languedoc-Roussillon, France)

More than 350,000 passengers now pass through Carcassonne en Pays Cathare Airport each year as they explore the Languedoc region of France. This small and efficient air facility is often referred to as the Salvaza Airport and is just 3 km / 2 miles to the west of Carcassonne town centre.

Salvaza Airport is also close to Caux-et-Sauzens, Cazilhac, Lavalette and Pannautier, and lies in southern France, within the region known as Aude. The facility is easy to find and can be conveniently reached by car from a number of cities via the A64 autoroute.

There is rail service from Carcassonne to Toulouse and a regular bus service, which runs between Salvaza Airport, Carcassonne town centre and the train station. In addition, a shuttle bus runs to the town centre every 25 minutes, after each arriving flight. Taxis are ready and waiting outside the terminal to whisk passengers into Carcassonne and towns beyond.

About Carcassonne Tourism

Carcassonne is an ancient, medieval town with a fairytale atmosphere and has inspired many filmmakers with its other worldly charms. To savour its magic, this small town can be explored on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage.

Close to Carcassonne Airport (CCF), this town itself is the only fortified town in Europe, which is still inhabited and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. In this spectacular fortress, you can relive over 2,500 years of history, while enjoying quaint cafés and shops selling locally produced goods. The historic town walls feature more than 50 towers, which were restored more than 150 years ago.
